Directed and run by Françoise Morin, has been in its new location—formerly a space for Public Baths—since 2006.

Located in Paris, near the canal St. Martin, LES DOUCHES LA GALERIE strives to show contemporary photography in the light of what’s commonly called a documentary style. “A documentary art form in which a subject takes a stand and commits him/herself” could well resume the different practices claimed by artists who are shown at the gallery.

The refusal of pathos, the deliberate, personal distancing, an ambiguity inherent to understanding the image—all clues to help the viewer apprehend the work of Stéphane Couturier, Bruce Wrighton or Rodolf Hervé.
