Le Concorde : Paris — New York

Past: May 23 → July 14, 2012

The Esther Woerdehoff Gallery presents the works by the American photographer, Frank Schramm.

Fascinated by planes since his early childhood, Frank Schramm decided in 1989 while having lunch at an airport in the Paris area, to photograph the airspace and in particular the Concorde. Those incredible machines coming from nowhere became an obsession and lead him to observe the skies from the world, armed with his Hasselblad.

Franck Schramm knows the best “hunting grounds” and never hesitates to contact the airlines and airports to find out when the Concorde will appear.

He obsessively devoted his photographic technique and his perseverance to his passion for the aeronautic to finally give us genuine black and white portraits of those steel birds, whose graphic lines and precision can only contrast with our own fragility.
