How is it possible to set up an exhibition as an act of edition? How to think about an exhibition as an extension of the magazine?

To give an answer to these two interrogations, we try to formulate a protocol. Giving the idea that in the magazine only a part of an artwork is shown, we chose to show no entire physical artwork.

Every artist extracted a part of the visual reproduction of his work to reproduce it on a limited artwork on digigraphy paper. Then, the artists created a portfolio. It presents the entire series where the image is extracted from or explains the context of the visual extract. Finally, every artist has uploaded one or several files on a USB stick. Those three stages correspond to the three editorial phases of Monstre magazine.

The magazine also collaborates with authors who give answers to a global theme or an issue or a word proposed by the editorial team. We have given a list of key words that corresponded to the limited artworks as instructions for the authors to use one or several words in their text. The visual elements and texts make up a score to achieve.
