Oleg Tcherny — Exposition personnelle
Past: June 15 → July 21, 2012
For his first solo show in France, Oleg Tcherny is presenting three recent videos: an urbanscape (with Giorgio Agamben, 2010), a portrait (with Jean-Marie Straub, 2011), and a self-portrait (2012). In his work, the movement of filmed images is altered by a method of ‘vertical’ editing. Produced in HD, his videos probe the thickness of time, to the limits of visual, acoustic and conceptual abstraction.
Born in Minsk (Belarus) in 1971, Oleg Tcherny studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and at the Frenoy — Studio national des arts contemporains. He lives in Paris, Venice and Princeton.
